NEWPORT FEDERAL SAVINGS BANK RENEWS CONTRACT WITH EDCOMM BANKER’S ACADEMY FOR COMPLIANCE, TELLER, HR COMPLIANCE, AND EEO TRAINING
(NEW YORK, NY) - December 23, 2008
Newport Federal Savings Bank has renewed its contract with Edcomm Banker’s Academy for compliance, teller, HR compliance and EEO training. Newport Federal Savings Bank will go on to host and maintain this collection of banking training programs through Edcomm Banker’s Academy’s own LMS, Learning Link®.
Focus on Compliance, from Edcomm Banker’s Academy, is a computer-based, distance-learning program, and can be delivered via Internet, Intranet or CD-ROM. The program teaches banking compliance using easy-to-understand language in an interactive, self-paced format. Participants learn from their own perspective, with a curriculum customized to their position. Focus on Compliance covers: Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti Money Laundering (AML), USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, Privacy, Reg P, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Right to Financial Privacy, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Reg CC & Check 21, Reg D, Reg E, Reg Z, Truth in Lending, FCRA, FACT Act, HMDA, CRA, and Bank Bribery, among others. The program also includes a quick reference guide to all banking regulations, as well as a glossary of terms and a library of reference materials.
Take Charge! Achieving Teller Excellence, from Edcomm Banker’s Academy, is a comprehensive program that teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude that make tellers successful. The program gives tellers an overview of the industry, prepares them to provide outstanding customer service, reviews the various products and services that the Bank offers, such as checking, savings, CDs, loans and IRAs, and teaches tellers how to process and settle transactions while being mindful of compliance issues that affect their work.
Focus on HR Compliance, from Edcomm Banker’s Academy, covers all areas of HR Compliance, including Ethics and Code of Conduct, Conflicts of Interest, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Harassment and Discrimination, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), COBRA, as well as other laws and regulations from OSHA, EEOC and OFCCP.
